Funerals by Fiona

As your funeral celebrant, I will look after you on the day of the funeral and deliver a ceremony that reflects and celebrates the life and uniqueness of your loved one.

I understand that planning a funeral is really difficult for you at this distressing time and I will help you and guide you through planning the ceremony.

A celebrant led funeral is all about what type of farewell you want on the day – no rules and no restrictions (within reason!).

About Me

I live in North Cornwall with my husband and two dogs. I am professional, caring and friendly.

I have successfully completed my NOCN Diploma, which is the highest possible qualification in Funeral Celebrancy in the UK and I am a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants.

I follow the Funeral Celebrant Accord which sets the standards  by which all Funeral Celebrants should be measured.

I love my role which enables me to support you at a very emotional and stressful time.

What happens next? Normally your Funeral Director will recommend me or a friend may have referred me.

  • I will meet with you to chat about your loved one’s life and gather key details and your favourite memories. Ones that make you laugh or smile are great.

  • I will write a draft script for your approval, including the eulogy – or you may draft the eulogy if you prefer.

  • Family or friends may contribute and speak at the ceremony or I  can deliver the total ceremony if you prefer.

  • I will help you to choose a poem or reading  - or you may have a favourite?

  • You can choose favourite music to be played.

  • You can choose to include religious content or a prayer, or you may choose to have no religious content at all.

  • I will manage the ceremony on the day and support you.

  • I will give you a presentation script to keep or share with those who could not attend.

I am also available for Memorial Services, Scattering of Ashes or pre Funeral Planning.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for everything you did for us and for the copy of the ceremony you sent. It really was greatly appreciated. The little wild flower butterfly is such a lovely idea too and we look forward to seeing it grow in the future.

We had such lovely feedback from family and friends after the service. You were amazing at helping us put it all together, which I know can’t have been easy when you were having to deal with lots of input from different people.

We would like to express our most sincere thanks to you for your kindness, support,  advice and sincerity both before and during the Service at Colin's funeral last week. Your words were perfect and helped us through. It was all beautiful and I know that Colin would have thought so too.

Thanks for running things with such warmth and dignity today. It was never going to be easy, but we all hugely appreciated your presence.

May we thank you for your sympathetic delivery of Donald’s service and the way you guided us. It meant we could have a service to truly celebrate Don’s wonderful but too short life.

You particularly helped Emma through her emotional tribute. Thank you again.

Thank you so much for today. Your kind voice, plan of the service and beautiful words you spoke about our mum were very comforting for us all.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to you for hosting a lovely service in memory of Dad.  Whilst a very emotional and difficult time for the whole family you helped make the day feel very personal and warm something the family and Dad would have wished for.

Fiona oversaw the celebration of life ceremony for our recently deceased father. In constructing the eulogy, she used her obvious experience to suggest ways in which to get the tone just right, which played out on the day to great effect. In conducting the event itself, her composed and sincere nature ensured that everything flowed beautifully and delivered exactly the kind of touching tribute we were hoping for. It was a pleasure to meet and work with her, and we highly recommend her services."

Thank you again for your support and help this week. The acid test, my mother, said you did a great job (and we all agree). You helped us greatly, and did it well. I admire that.

Just a quick note to say a big thankyou on behalf of all our family. The service went very well, and was well received over here in England. Everybody I've spoken to this afternoon, both family and friends have said what a lovely summary of Heather's you delivered; it was just......Heather.
